SD Programme | DMSP Workshop Programme

The Special Day accompanying the annual BENEFIT Workshop has established itself as an indispensable event, where all those difficult and challenging problems related to building pan-European projects can be presented and discussed. The Special Day is much more than just the information day, usually organised to inform about the new programmes of the European Commission. Not neglecting its informative role, the overall objectives of the event are set much wider. In its Co-operation Perspectives part, the Special Day addresses both, the European, and the national scenarios by presenting the European strategies, and the governmental policy towards research and development.
It offers a forum to share experience between the partners from Central and East European countries and their Western colleagues involved in common projects. The Session Co-operation in practice will look at the co-operation issues with a critical eye, identify and monitor obstacles, and draw constructive conclusions.
Since majority of funds, are available for strongly applied research, the transfer of research results from academia to industry appears to be a main challenge for majority of research teams. Techno-parks are a proven solution to this task. The Special Day will investigate models of technology transfer used in techno-parks.
Recognising the revolutionary consequences stemming from the technological progress in processing and communicating information which are critical for long-distance collaboration., in the late evening panel we shall debate and speculate about the use of advanced services based on Internet to improve work of collaborative projects.
We thank all the contributors to the Special Day programme, and
acknowledge the organisational effort
of our colleagues from the Silesian Technical University.
We wish all the participants fruitful and beneficial Special Day.
